Their Bandcamp page bills their music as "Songs about pee for people who like pee". Hey, that's us! "Barada" translates roughly to "streaming with gold" in Greek or some shit according to Wikipedia. See?
"The word "Barada" is thought to be derived from the word barid, which means "cold" in Semitic languages. The ancient Greek name (Greek: Χρυσορρόας, romanized: Chrysorrhoas), means "streaming with gold". --- Wikipedia

Bitchin'. Their October 2024 album Wet is a full LP-length offering with 17 pissy tracks, some of which sport titles like "Euphoria in the Pouring Rain," "Golden Rivers" and "Wet Denim". I'd describe the sound on Wet as 3 cups of Indie Rock + 1 cup Rockabilly + a pinch of Pop, but I'm no music critic. The lead singer appears to be female based on the vocals I'm hearing--it's a shame the band doesn't show their face or list their members anywhere that I can find. The songs are actually quality and not some GG Allin-esque Raperock nonsense. (No offense to those who enjoy that sort of grotesque performance art). It's a lot more polished & subtle, plus it actually sounds good to the ear.

Barada dropped a new track in May 2025 called "Piss Urinal Bitch"--a title I don't care much for due to the pre-existing association of piss kinks with the degradation of women ("piss slut", "pee whore," etc). The song is more Techno/Dance inspired than the Wet album by a long stretch, and its lyrics come off as sort of silly, especially with the uptempo production. But it's got a nice beat.
Barada mainly uses AI art for their song and album covers, another check in the negative column for me. There's a different group/artist that goes by the same name & has been putting out music since '94, and yet another person/group of the same name who put out an album way back in 1975. Pretty sure those are 2 separate "Baradas" despite being lumped under the same Spotify band page. So in total we've got 3 Baradas. Will the real Barada please stand up?
I think this group or artist has potential based on their vocal quality, if only they'd stick to a sound that's more cohesive and not go for the low-hanging fruit with puns, misogyny & the like. I'd also like to see or read more about the people behind the music. Who's on bass? Vocals? Drums? Or is it all AI-generated? Is that even a thing?
This mysterious band leaves me with more questions than answers. It's understandable that any serious musician (or anybody else, really) wouldn't want their real name/face associated with lyrics like "Pull over/I gotta take a piss" sung in the most dead serious manner imaginable, but for my own curiosity I NEED to know who's writing and performing this material. Do they do concerts or tour at all? What are their live shows like? Again, too many questions for this old piss blogger. I do appreciate anyone who puts effort into normalizing and spreading the golden love of our fetish via vehicles other than just porn, so hats off to this band or solo artist (still not sure which).
