Sorry for the sarcasti-caps, but I just can't understand why so many people seem so baffled by this.

"Eww why would anyone LIKE that?"

"You're kidding aren't you?  Stop.  Nobody pees themselves on purpose."

"Sounds like another excuse for pure laziness to me."

Sure it's not for everyone, hence why it's a fetish/paraphilia, but that shouldn't preclude you from wrapping your brain around why someone else might enjoy it.

The answer is simple:  BECAUSE IT FEELS GOOD!  Why does it feel good?  Because urine is warm, wet and comes from the genitals.  In women, a full bladder presses on the G-spot which can increase sensation & overall horniness.  (Not sure about male anatomy).  Sex therapists often encourage women who want to learn to "squirt" to practice in a safe place like the bath tub with a full bladder first because it feels so similar to peeing you have to get comfortable with the sensation if you want to learn to 'let go'.  Take something that physically feels amazing and combine that with the taboo aspect... the fact that urination is such a private thing and wetting a social faux pas.  So you get urgency, desperation, panic, the physical sensation, surrender, relief, release & the naughty afterglow.  Lot of possible reasons to find it pleasurable.

But there's another side to this coin: the pure relaxation.

While some wetters do it because it's sexually arousing or titillating; others do it to relax and unwind... to flip the bird at authority so to speak.  These are more often the nonchalant wetters who tend to be more high strung & anxious in everyday life.  The perfectionists and Type A's.  For them, wetting is the ultimate form of relaxing without the risks of drugs or alcohol.  What could be more chill than just GOING in your pants wherever you are?

Casual vs. Urgent Wetting

Nothing to see here...

We're all trained from childhood that bathroom accidents have heavy consequences in the form of parental/caregiver scolding, social exclusion, bullying and general mocking or humiliation.  There's something comforting and even liberating about standing there and wetting yourself when you need to go.  Disabled actress Elana Binysh alludes to this in her "I think it was a feeling" piece, in which she says about public wetting (in all seriousness) about onlookers, "They're jealous.  They wish they were pissing too."  (Hot!)  She has learned to accept and even embrace her incontinence by admitting that wetting your pants feels good, and this is both sexy to read about and empowering for incontinent people, I'd imagine.

I see this question posed in so many different ways on sites like Quora, as if people are fishing for the obvious answer:  that we do it because it feels good & we enjoy it.  Same reason continent people wear diapers.  That's one of the perks of being an adult--you can do things like eating too many sweets, staying up too late or pissing your pants just because you want to.  Of course all actions come with consequences, however benign or small.

I divide wetting into two distinct types:  urgent and casual.  Urgent = the big potentially humiliating accidents that you fight during a bladder hold.  The ones where you either give in because you know you'll never make it to a bathroom in time or you lose control completely.  Casual wetting is much more relaxed and can even bring about physical relaxation itself.  No desperation necessary--just spurt or leak whenever you get the urge as you go about your normal activities.  The difference lies in the headspace, not the amount of urine released or any other factor.  One is exciting/accidental/embarrassing and the other is intentional/leisurely/"meh".

It seems that high strung people with lots of social anxiety and stress tend to prefer a more nonchalant or casual approach to wetting while others (Type B laid back folks) prefer the desperation subtype with the thrill/urgency, sometimes in riskier settings.  Obviously there are exceptions and crossovers and people who like both.  For me, it just depends on what mood I'm in but I def like to draw out the fun by trying to keep it casual and "spurting" as long as possible.  And public urgency does absolutely nothing for me because I can't truly let go and enjoy myself or get sexual with people around.

Posters in the /r/nonchalantwetting sub on Reddit piss themselves doing all kinds of things, from brushing their teeth to enjoying a good book to doing yoga.  The idea is "kill two birds with one stone" by peeing while doing something else, that way you don't have to interrupt your life to use the bathroom.  There's something very freeing about this too in a cheeky, rebellious sort of way.  My dream would be to have a house or island where I could casually wet without having to worry about cleanup, though I'm not sure how this could be achieved.  Just lounge around the house in a different outfit every time I had to pee and soak myself in various rooms and positions.  The hammock, the greenhouse, the sunroom, the gazebo, the gym, the bar, the infrared sauna... Oh if only I had the moolah.

So hopefully that answers this silly question.  There are so many reasons one could be into wetting:  for sexual arousal and excitement, as a drug-free way to unwind and relax, as a middle finger to the establishment, because it's convenient and lets them fully hyperfocus on their favorite things, the taboo aspect.  Take your pick.  The point is, there are many more dangerous and unhygienic things people do that you should be concerned about, though I won't get into that here.  Of course if you really want to know, trying it for yourself will show you better than any words could ever tell you!
